Digimarc Alternatives for Creators and Small Businesses

Leakless Alternative: Takedowns vs Tracing Who Leaked
Leakless finds leaked creator content across the web and files DMCA takedowns for you. Markedfile marks each copy so you can tell which recipient leaked it. Here is how they differ and when to use each, or both.
LeakCatch Alternative: Two Ways to Trace Who Leaked Your Content
LeakCatch watermarks every subscriber's download through a verified delivery link and adds DMCA monitoring. Markedfile marks images and PDFs you send any way you like, without storing them. Here is how they compare.
When Markedfile is the right fit
- You want to mark an image or a PDF for each recipient and start today, without a sales conversation. Imatag, EchoMark and Digimarc are built for larger programs.
- You send the file yourself and need to know which copy leaked, not only who opened a link. DocSend records the visit. Markedfile marks the file.
- You do not need a portal to deliver the file. LeakCatch marks downloads that go through its own link. Markedfile marks images and PDFs you send any way you like, and it does not store them.
When it is not
- You need to find copies already on the web and ask for them to be taken down. Leakless and LeakCatch do that. Markedfile does not search the web or send takedown notices.
- You need to watermark email, video, or a whole screen. EchoMark, Imatag and Digimarc cover that scope. Markedfile marks images and PDFs.
What detection can and cannot do
- Detection is never guaranteed.
- A crop of about 256 px of a detailed photo or diagram is an approximate minimum, not a ceiling. Images smaller than 96×96 pixels are not accepted.
- A screenshot or photo of a PDF page is best effort and is not guaranteed. Upload the PDF file when you have it.
- Most 90° rotations of an image still detect.
- The API is only on the Enterprise plan: POST /api/v1/mark and POST /api/v1/detect.
Mark a copy before you send it
