Leakless Alternative: Takedowns vs Tracing Who Leaked
Short answer: Leakless and Markedfile solve different halves of the same problem. Leakless is a managed takedown service for creators: it scans the web for your leaked content, impersonators and deepfakes and files DMCA notices automatically, for $99 per month after a discounted first month. Markedfile does not remove anything: it marks each copy of an image or PDF you send with an invisible, per-recipient identifier, so when a copy leaks you can tell whose copy it was. If leaks are already everywhere and you need them gone, Leakless is built for that. If you want to find and stop the source, Markedfile is a cheaper, self-serve option, and the two can work together.

What Leakless does
According to its site, Leakless is aimed at creators on OnlyFans, Fansly, Patreon, cam sites and similar platforms, plus agencies that manage several creators. It:
- Scans piracy sites, tube hosts, file dumps, torrents, cyberlockers, social platforms and search engines (it cites 50M+ sites) for your face, name and handles, 24/7.
- Files DMCA takedowns automatically and requests Google delisting, with re-upload monitoring. It cites an average removal time of about 4 hours, while noting that actual removal depends on each platform.
- Detects deepfakes with facial recognition and reports impersonator accounts across 500+ platforms, and monitors livestream piracy.
- Offers a free invisible watermark tool for images (JPG, PNG, WebP, HEIC up to 8 MB) that embeds a recipient username and date and can detect it later.
Pricing is a single plan: the first month at 50% off ($49.50), then $99 per month, cancel anytime, covering up to 5 stage names. The agency tier starts at $99 per creator per month with volume discounts. We did not find a public API on its site.

Where Leakless is the better choice
- Your content is already spread across leak sites and you need it taken down without doing it yourself.
- You need protection against deepfakes, impersonators or restreamed shows.
- You want a done-for-you service, including for an agency roster.
Where Markedfile fits better
- You want to know which buyer or subscriber leaked a pack, so you can remove them and stop future leaks.
- You also send PDFs: guides, presets documentation, contracts, proposals.
- You want to start free and pay flat, low prices.
- You need programmatic marking on the Enterprise plan.
- You do not want your files stored.
Using both: mark each copy with Markedfile so you know who leaked, and let a takedown service like Leakless clean up what is already out there. See also how to protect paid content packs.
What to keep in mind
No watermarking tool can guarantee detection in every case, and Markedfile's detection is heuristic. A very small crop (below roughly 230 px of a detailed area), a heavy edit, or a copy that was never marked may not be identifiable. Small images and some heavily compressed ones use a more fragile mark that does not survive screenshots; images under 256×256 px always do. Most 90° rotations still detect. Resizing survives on detailed photos only for images marked after a recent improvement; older marked images need to be marked again. For PDFs, a screenshot of about a quarter of a page or more is detectable, only for PDFs marked from now on, and a crop of only a barcode or QR code is not detected. Markedfile identifies a copy, not a person, so treat a match as evidence to follow up on.
Markedfile also cannot trace copies that were sent before you marked them, and it does not search the web or remove anything for you.
How it works with Markedfile
- Upload the original image or PDF and create one marked copy per recipient.
- Send each person their own copy through the channel you already use.
- If a copy leaks, upload what you found (a file or a screenshot) to Detect and see whose copy it matches.
FAQ
Is Markedfile a Leakless alternative? Only partly. If what you want is to identify the source of leaks, yes. If you need web monitoring, DMCA takedowns, deepfake or impersonator removal, no: Leakless does that and Markedfile does not.
Doesn't Leakless also have a watermark? Yes, it offers a free invisible watermark tool for images. Markedfile focuses on marking and detection, adds PDFs and an Enterprise API, and does not store your files.
Which is cheaper? Markedfile starts free and paid plans start at $9.99 per month. Leakless is $99 per month after a discounted first month. They do different jobs, so compare against what you need.
Can either one guarantee a leak disappears or is traced? No. Takedowns depend on each platform, and detection depends on what survives in the leaked copy.
Do I need to install anything? No. Markedfile runs in the browser, and recipients receive normal files.
